’23 COTA Hoosier Super Tour: At A Glance

The second Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour event of 2023 takes place Feb. 11-12 in Austin, TX, at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The only Hermann Tilke-designed track visited by the Hoosier Super Tour, COTA is a world-renowned venue that has hosted 10 Formula One contests, as well as NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series races.

The 3.41-mile, 20-turn circuit opens with an intimidating 133-foot climb to Turn 1, a spot that has produced many thrilling Hoosier Super Tour moments over the years. There’s plenty of excitement outside the track, too, as Austin is well known for its electrifying nightlife scene that includes great music and fantastic food.

The COTA Hoosier Super Tour Schedule

Hoosier Super Tour’s visit to COTA is a two-day event. On-track action officially begins at 8 a.m. Central Time on Saturday, Feb. 11, with 20-minute qualifying sessions for each of seven run groups. That is followed by 25-minute or 10-lap races Saturday afternoon for each run group.

Action resumes Sunday, Feb. 12, at 8 a.m. Central Time again with 15-minute qualifying sessions for each run group, followed by 35-minute or 14-lap races to close out the weekend.

How to Watch

The Hoosier Super Tour visit to COTA is open to the public and free for spectators. There’s no better way to enjoy everything an SCCA event has to offer than to be trackside in person.

For those who simply can’t get to COTA for the weekend, another fantastic option for following the action this year is with the new Hoosier Super Tour enhanced video and audio coverage. The familiar voices of motorsports commentators Gregg Ginsberg and Brian Bielanski will be calling the play-by-play action, and DriversEye Live will be producing the live video broadcast featuring up to 12 cameras – plus in-car video where possible.

Catching the broadcast from COTA is simple. Coverage will be streamed live via the SCCA Official YouTube channel and SCCA Inc. Facebook page. Post-race video interviews with some winners from Saturday, and Sunday victory podium celebration videos, can also be viewed at the SCCA Road Racing Facebook page. What to Watch

With nearly 250 entries overall, there will be lots to watch during the Hoosier Super Tour stop at COTA. Fans will want to keep a close eye on the broadcast because there will surely be exciting contests that pop up Saturday and Sunday during each of the seven race groups.

With an impressive 20 drivers on the entry list, the Formula Atlantic field in run group four will certainly be a race to watch. And don’t miss the 36-car Spec Racer Ford Gen3 field that makes up the second run group, as well as the 34-car Spec Miata fifth run group.

Touring 3, which is part of the first run group, has 13 entrants that will be jockeying for a win, and B-Spec will arrive at COTA with a dozen racers all looking to utilize the draft to earn victory in the third run group.
